I am back to working on my series of bird paintings and decided to start off with painting the Nene! The Nene is also known as the Hawaiian Goose, and it is the state bird of Hawaii. This bird is only found on the Hawaiian Islands, and it is the world’s rarest goose. Although once threatened, recent conservation efforts happily have helped bring a steady rise back to their population.
It is such a gorgeous bird with an especially striking appearance to its neck. I only hope that I was able to capture this beautiful bird aptly! Both the original painting and archival prints of it are available for sale. And below are some work in progress photos of this painting for you to see!
